In 1929, Dr. Arthur Master, a physician at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York, developed the first standardized cardiac stress test. This innovative diagnostic test measures the ability of the heart to respond to stress, either induced by physical exercise or stimulated by medication, to detect any abnormalities. Today, Nikomed develops the world's first kidney-shaped ECG electrode, forever changing the shape and effectiveness of ECG. Nikomed recieved a patent for this outstanding innovation.

Patented Kidney-Shaped Trace 1 Electrode

Nikomed's Trace 1 kidney-shaped design allows electrodes to nest within each other, providing the fastest, easiest, and most accuate lead placement. These electrodes require less raw material, save overall cost, and are environmentally friendly. They are super-tack adehsive and provide superior contact.
